The Four Seasons Hotel George V invites its Guests to an exceptional wine tasting in its very own Wine
Hosted by Eric Beaumard, Director of ‘Le Cinq’ restaurant and voted Sommelier off the Year in 2003, this
monthly event is an excellent opportunity to taste some of the George V world class wines.
Lasting for about an hour, Eric Beaumard will give an expert commentary on the tastes behind three different
wines: red, white and champagne.
The wine tasting will take place in the intimacy of the Hotel’s Wine Cellar, built 14 meters underground in
a former stone quarry whose stones helped build the Arc de Triomphe. Inside the Wine Cellar are more than 50,000 bottles and over 2,200 types of both French and international wines, all
storedatidealtemperatures and humidity. Arranged by order of region, a visit to the Wine Cellar is likea candlelittouraround the world:Italy, California, Argentina, South Africa, Hungary,
Chileand France, with vintage wines from Bordeaux and Bourgogne. Guests will also discover hidden gems from the ‘New World’ as well as the Rhone Valley and the Languedoc Roussillon region. Each
tour will be accompanied by gougère puff pastries, charcuterie and cheese.
Eric Beaumard has been in charge of the Wine Cellar and Le Cinq since the reopening of Four Seasons Hotel
George V in 1999. He is delighted to be able to share his passion with clients of both Le Cinq and the Hotel. “It is a unique and privileged way to discover one of the most beautiful wine cellars
of Paris whilst exploring wines from the French vineyards,perhaps unknown by wine amateurs”, he says.
